Sydney – State Library of NSW – Shakespeare

As well as taking special notice of the Tasman map in the foyer of the State Library (see previous post), we had a chance to look in the library’s Shakespeare Room. The room is open to the public every Tuesday from 10am to 4pm, when a volunteer guide explains the contents of the room.
The Tudor-style wood panelling, stained glass windows, a plaster ceiling with an intricate design, and a collection of books by or about Shakespeare, create an amazing atmosphere, not to be found anywhere else in Australia.
