Verona – Dante – 1

Dante was exiled from Florence in 1302 and seems to have lived at various places around Tuscany, including at Lucca. From 3012 to 3018 he lived in Verona, as the guest of Cangrande I della Scala, ruler of that city.

Verona honours the famous poet with a statue in the Piazza dei Signori.
