Adam Lindsay Gordon – Mt Gambier

A much older monument for Adam Lindsay Gordon than the one at Coleraine (yesterday’s post) was erected beside the Blue Lake in Mt Gambier in 1887.

This obelisk remembers a riding feat by Gordon accomplished in July 1864 when on horseback he leaped over a fence onto a narrow ledge overlooking the lake, and then jumped back again.
