London – T.S. Eliot

American by birth, but British by choice, T. S. Eliot spent most of his adult life in London.

A few years back when we were visiting some City of London churches we came across a reference to T. S. Eliot in St Mary Woolnorth. Eliot mentioned the clock on the outside of the church in his poem The Waste Land. Inside the church, you can see the clock mechanism with the relevant part of the poem inscribed underneath.
