Canterbury – Chaucer 3

The St Thomas shrine that Chaucer’s pilgrims journeyed towards in the Canterbury Tales can no longer be seen. It was destroyed by the order of King Henry VIII in 1538. Now a candle burns in the cathedral at the place where the shrine used to be.
